Up to now, China has basically formed a national oil and gas supply pattern of “West oil transported to East, North oil transported to South, West gas transported to East, North gas transported to South, Offshore gas landing to the land", a wide range of oil and gas pipeline network has been formed. 

·The total length of the oil & gas pipelines was 120,000km in 2014.

·The production of oil field is increasing, and the total length of oil pipelines laid is increasing accordingly.

·The pipelines laid in the early years are aging seriously, in urgent need for maintenance.

·About 200,000 km municipal pipelines were laid before 1980s, many of them have reached the service life.

·The old pipes are aging and corroded seriously, leading to low transport efficiency and high leakage risks.

·The current pipe repair material is not durable  and the installation technique is backward.
